Bleachers passed through California this week on support for their new album Gone Now. This tour is absolutely incredible and left me in disbelief. The frontman and creator of Bleachers, Jack Antonoff (formerly of FUN., and Steel Train), put on one of the most energetic shows that I have ever seen. His ability to connect with the crowd and get people singing and dancing is something that I rarely see these days at shows. This show felt like a safe place; there was no judgement and everyone in the crowd was friends for the night.

The stage was completely dark when the instrumentals of the first track off of Gone Now, "Dream of Mickey Mantle", started. once Antonoff started singing, the stage lit up and he was seen sitting upstage at a microphone wearing his costume from the Gone Now album art. It was a great decision get the show going with this song because it starts of slow and builds with energy; after that the show took off and the crowd went wild.

The setlist featured a lot of Bleachers' hits including "Rollercoaster", "I Wanna Get Better", and "Don't Take the Money". Antonoff even surprised his fans by performing and emotional rendition of FUN.'s single "Carry On". There was even a moment during "You're Still a Mystery" where the band sang "Happy Birthday" to a member and passed cake around the entire venue to share with the audience.
